New webinar series to examine net zero in the food system
The AFN Network+ has launched its new webinar series, which will feature high quality speakers at the top of their game. Each webinar will explore the topic of how to create a more sustainable, low-emission, UK agri-food system from a variety of perspectives.
For the first webinar, the speaker was Dustin Benton, policy director of Green Alliance. The UK government has committed to delivering net zero by 2050 – but how on track are we and what needs to change in UK food and farming? Dustin Benton, policy director at Green Alliance, talks us through Chris Skidmore’s independent review of government net zero plans, and puts forward his own solutions from the Alliance’s latest report ‘Shaping UK land use: priorities for food, nature and climate’. The seminar was chaired by Prof Neil Ward, a co-convenor of AFN Network+, and author of ‘Net Zero, Food and Farming: Climate Change and the UK Agri-Food System’.
