The AFN Network+ (UKRI Agri-food for Net Zero Network+) brings together more than 2,000 people from across UK agri-food to identify the key research gaps which need to be addressed if we are to reduce emissions in the sector and achieve the UK’s transition towards net zero by 2050.
The Network is a unique collaboration between academics, researchers, third sector organisations, policy makers, and agri-food industry professionals, including farmers and retailers.
Our members come from all parts of the agri-food system, from large organisations and small, and from all kinds of backgrounds. This inclusivity is essential. By making sure that our work is informed by a diverse range of perspectives, we can be more confident that our recommendations have a better chance of success and will meet the needs of the whole sector.
Our findings will inform UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) research investments over the next decade – a critical period for the planet.
Alongside our core mission, we run in-person and online events, publish reports and research and seed fund new research by giving out hundreds of thousands of pounds of funding a year.
