Analysis: How do poverty & psychology determine food choices?

In this episode we’re looking at how psychology and poverty influence our food choices, and ability to lead healthy and sustainable lives. This is of course really important for our agri-food net zero challenge as well as the UK’s general well-being, as the country faces soaring levels of poverty and some of the highest rates of obesity in Europe. To delve into this issue, we run through the key messages from our webinar with Prof Charlotte Hardman, of the University of Liverpool, then mull this over with Katie Palmer, founder and programme manager at Food Sense Wales, and Dr Anna Macready, an associate professor in Consumer Behaviour and Marketing at the University of Reading. Asking the questions is Jez Fredenburgh, knowledge exchange fellow at AFN Network+, based at the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change, and an agri-food journalist.
