The Community Supported Agriculture Network UK

Awarded: £4,545

Working in partnership with the Organic Growers Alliance (OGA), the CSA Network will produce two resources for small-scale agroecological market gardeners:

  1. “Crop planning for uncertain times”: how to crop plan to take account of unexpected weather events and increasing fluctuations in temperature.
  2. “Infrastructure for uncertain times”: appropriate infrastructure to deal with this, including irrigation, crop protection, flood protection, windbreaks and soil health.

Key findings

  • Diversity, diversity, diversity! Of crops, layers and audience!

Recommendations for further research and activity

  • To investigate how much small agroecological farms are able to produce high yields of biodiversity, health and of food at the same time as remaining carbon negative.
