The Community Supported Agriculture Network UK
Awarded: £4,545
Working in partnership with the Organic Growers Alliance (OGA), the CSA Network will produce two resources for small-scale agroecological market gardeners:
- “Crop planning for uncertain times”: how to crop plan to take account of unexpected weather events and increasing fluctuations in temperature.
- “Infrastructure for uncertain times”: appropriate infrastructure to deal with this, including irrigation, crop protection, flood protection, windbreaks and soil health.
Climate Resilience: a guide for growers
This guide, written by Andy Dibben and Dan Burston, endeavours to provide practical knowledge which will support growers to improve resilience and flexibility in the face of increasing climate-based challenges to food production.
Key findings
- Diversity, diversity, diversity! Of crops, layers and audience!
Recommendations for further research and activity
- To investigate how much small agroecological farms are able to produce high yields of biodiversity, health and of food at the same time as remaining carbon negative.
