I’m the founder of Twocan, an initiative created to connect and empower people across the entire food, farming, and horticultural ecosystem. Growing up on a diverse farm in Yorkshire sparked my passion for agriculture and showed me the value of collaboration. After working in farm advisory and commercial roles, I founded Twocan to create a community where mentoring, leadership, and personal growth come together to help individuals and businesses thrive. Twocan was inspired by my 2022 Nuffield Farming Scholarship, and today I’m passionate about helping people build meaningful connections and drive positive change across the industry.

Developing a farm- and food-level GHG accounting framework for UK land use, and exploring how GHG accounting tools can foster a net zero–literate farmer and adviser community.
Ffion Evans is a Research Fellow at the Countryside and Community Research Institute (CCRI), working on the Land Use for Net Zero (LUNZ) Footprint project. She recently completed a PhD within the international CircAgric-GHG project, examining how increasing circularity affects nutrient management, GHG mitigation, and profitability across English and Welsh farm types, and exploring barriers and opportunities for adoption. Her research focuses on the complexities of farmer learning and decision-making, and how these processes can be better supported.

Food systems transformation in Scotland, with a focus on policy and governance processes and structures.
My initial education was focused on food science and innovation, although I am also a qualified pastry chef and graduate of the advanced master Interface Cuisine-Industry. I spent over seven years working in the food and drink industry, mostly in new product development and technical customer support, in sectors as varied as chocolate, bakery and salmon. During my time as a practitioner, I was involved with many aspects of small- and large-scale business operations, from production to quality control and marketing. My return to academia was the result of a lifelong interest in the social and cultural aspects of food, and my focus on Scotland stems from my long affection for my adoptive country and its inhabitants.

I have been an agronomist with Agrii for 40 years working with a number of mostly arable farms in the south midlands. I have been involved in various r and d programmes both internally within Agrii and externally with both commercial and academic organisations. These collaborative projects have included both agri tech funded and horizon 2020 projects. I have this year started an MSc in soil science at Cranfield
