Our Membership
Our aim as a Network is to build an open, diverse and inclusive community of members, that sparks new relationships, as well as strengthening existing ones, between stakeholders across agri-food. Funding and impact
The Network has provided funding for both small-scale academic research and for non-academic activities. The projects that we have funded support our mission of shaping the research necessary to drive the agri-food system’s progress towards net zero. In total, over the life of the Network, we are awarding nearly £1 million to dozens of projects.

Propagate
Lochhill, in Galloway, south west Scotland, is a 26-hectare farm with a new succession plan as the owners look to step back from farming, while preserving the farm’s biodiversity and contributing to the local community. With funding from the AFN Network+, the team carried out extensive baselining of the farm’s soil health, wildlife and natural capital, as well as a roundtable event with experts in regenerative farming to crowdsource ways of raising income in addition to subsidies.
