New scoping study reports
We have published the first reports from the first year’s scoping studies. You can now read more on the findings from:
- Harvesting insights from social and behavioural sciences to increase UK consumers’ awareness and acceptance of alternative proteins;
- Changing chicken for net zero: practices and beliefs from the poultry industry; and
- Developing a sustainability data map for the UK dairy food chain.
New FlexFund projects
We are delighted to announce the latest Stakeholder FlexFund projects. They have been awarded to:
The next round of the Stakeholder FlexFund will be the final one. The funding allows UK-based stakeholders to implement activities that support our mission to build a community working towards achieving net zero through the agri-food sector by 2050. The total amount you can apply for is between £1,000 – £5,000. This final round will close on 1 February 2025. More details
The role of pulses in a healthy, sustainable diet
Alternative protein sources, such as pulses, can help mitigate adverse effects of food production on the environment as well as offering a wide-range of benefits for public health. This virtual issue brings together recent articles published in the Nutrition Bulletin looking at the benefits and challenges around increasing the consumption of pulses.

Reckoning with Regeneration: AGILE research sprint
In September, TABLE launched a one-year project aims to clarify if and how regenerative agriculture can lead to greater alignment of food and nutrition security goals with those for land and environment, and support policy to enable a just transition for the sector and for those it supplies. Does a move to regenerative agriculture support a regenerative food system?

Tim Lang on UK food system preparedness for shocks

Renowned food systems thinker and scholar, Prof Tim Lang, has spent the last two years researching the UK food system’s preparedness for shocks. In this webinar he will draw on his soon-to-be-published report for the National Preparedness Commission which addresses the state of civil (ie the public’s) food resilience.
