Innovation in animal health including digital tech and artificial intelligence
About me
I began my career as a farm vet in UK and then specialised in veterinary epidemiology and preventive medicine here and overseas. Through this experience, I became an active proponent for One Health, including research concerned with zoonotic diseases and on surveillance systems, in the Animal & Plant Health Agency. I was fortunate to be a founding academic in the University of Surrey's School of Veterinary Medicine and I am privileged to have been appointed as Emeritus Professor of Veterinary Epidemiology. My interests in Surrey expanded into innovation in animal health as a co-founder of the veterinary Health Innovation Engine (vHive) in partnership with Zoetis, which had a particular focus on the use of Big Data, digital innovation and the application of Artificial Intelligence to gain new insights develop solutions to benefit animals, their owners and wider society. I continue to provide expertise as a consultant in animal health and innovation through my company, Mujika Ltd.
